*Sigh* Sony Pictures have announced via press release that the Spider-Man reboot will be 3-D, and is scheduled for release July 3rd 2012.

I knew this would happen. 3-D is taking over the world after the success that Avatar has had with the format. It’s no longer a gimmick, it’s now a unique selling point.

To be honest I care more about the story. I really couldn’t care less if it was 3-D, 4-D or black and white with mono sound. When will the studio’s learn that it’s the story that immerses you into a film not the special effects. They should always come after the story, and never be the main focus of a film. Did you honestly sit and watch Transformers 2 and say to yourself, ‘well the story’s crappy, but it’s OK because the special effects are awesome!’?
