I Pick: The 10 Best Films of 2009

Well the end of the year is pretty much here, and it seems everybody is giving us their lists for the best movies of the decade and this year. I’ve never been much of a list maker, as I always end up forgetting something, which then puts the whole integrity of the list into question. This year however there have been some fantastic films, so I feel it’s my duty to stamp my corner of the web with a list of the films I enjoyed most this year.

So without rattling on too much here they are. In no particular order, my top ten films of 2009…

When it comes to computers Hollywood just seems incapable of portraying them as they really are.

It’s something that’s always bugged me. Why do the computers in movies bear little resemblance to the PC’s and MAC’s we all use each day?

Why I’ll be going to see G.I. Joe

I’ve made the decision to go and see G.I. Joe: Rise of the Cobra this week. It’s been a tough one, and I know I’m going to be left feeling angry with myself for seeing it. But there’s been so much bad press surrounding G.I. Joe that I feel it’s my duty to go and see it, just so I can say ‘Yes, it really was awful’.

Do you let negative reviews put you off?

The latest blockbuster is about to come out. You’ve seen the trailer and liked what you saw. You’re all set to go and see it, but you’ve heard from almost every critic and your best friend that the film is a pile of poop. Does this stop you from seeing it?

A few weeks back I went to the cinema to see Transformers 2. I’d heard a ton of negative reviews and criticism, but that didn’t deter me. Once I’ve made my mind up that I’m going to see something, nothing will put me off. I think it comes down to that voice in my head that tells me I might see the film in a different light.
