Tron: Legacy – Official Teaser Trailer Finally Here

At last Disney have released the first official trailer for Tron: Legacy. The highly anticipated sequel to their cult (but not very well known) 1982 classic, Tron.

It stars Garrett Hedlund, Olivia Wilde, Michael Sheen and ‘recent owner of an Oscar’ – Jeff Bridges, reprising his role as Flynn.

So if you’ve not seen the original – and you really must before seeing this – it’s basic premise is… a guy is stuck in a videogame/computer and has to play the videogames to survive. That’s the basic premise, but there’s so much more to it than that. The visuals alone are worth watching the movie for. But I can’t really put my finger on what made the original work, it’s just one of those rainy day movies I watched during the school holidays and now love as an adult.

So anyway, the sequel is due out end of this year, and everyone’s hoping it will find a new generation to fall in love with it.

IRON MAN 2 – Second Trailer is Excellent

The second Iron Man 2 trailer is now here. And if you had any doubts after the first trailer, then hopefully this will blow them away. It certainly did for me.

The first half of the trailer covers most of what we’ve already seen from the first trailer, but then we start to see the new shots… some new footage of Scarlett Johansson, Sam Rockwell and Samuel L. Jackson’s character’s. But what got me most excited was the final Tony Stark to Iron Man transformation on the race track. It was timed to perfection, and if the movie is half as good as the trailer is, then we’re in for a great ride.

The Karate Kid Trailer #2 – Jacket On, Jacket Off

Yes I know what you’re all thinking… Why haven’t there been many posts for a while. Well I’m in the process of moving house this week, so things are a bit hectic at the moment. I’ll keep trying to post as much as I can, but just a warning that I may not be as frequent as I usually am.

With that said here’s something to keep you occupied for a few minutes. The new trailer for the upcoming Karate Kid remake.

As I’ve said before, my expectations are so incredibly low for this. That being said, I’ve think this trailer proves that it will be watchable at least.

It’s obvious that they’ve kept the general plot the same – kid from out of town, gets beaten up by bullies, learns a martial art from wise old man, and goes on to beat bullies in a tournament – but there are of course some major tweaks. First of all it’s set in China not California. He learns Kung Fu instead of Karate, and he puts his jacket on and off instead of waxing on and off.

The idea of Jackie Chan replacing

So give it another look and let me know what you think. Is it really gonna be that bad?

Defendor: The Official Trailer

If you’ve seen the trailer for Kick-Ass by now, then you may think that the trailer you’re about to see is just a rip-off of that… It’s not. It shares the same theme as Kick-Ass - people in the real world that think they’re superheroes, but are actually just vigilantes – but has more of a Home Alone meets K-PAX feel to it.

The plot is described as:

A comedy centered around three characters: an everyday guy (Woody Harrelson) who comes to believe he’s a superhero, his psychiatrist, and the teenager (Kat Dennings) he befriends.

Anyway I posted a trailer for this way back in September last year, before it had been purchased by a distributor. Now we’ve got a more polished ‘Official’ version for you to watch.

Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps Official Trailer

Yeah, I know that I’m late with this trailer. It went up last week and I wasn’t paying attention, so now I’m probably the last blog to put it up. Apologies, etc. etc.

Anyway, bring out your filofax’s, dust off your money clips and get ready for, Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps. The sequel to eighties classic Wall Street, starring Michael Douglas reprising his role as Gordon Gekko, and Shia LaBeouf as ‘not quite a nerd, not quite a hunk’ Shia LaBeouf! … sorry, I couldn’t resist.

So Money Never Sleeps takes place roughly twenty years after the first film. Gordon Gekko is released from prison and realises that things have changed a lot since the eighties.

I’m honestly really looking forward to this. The trailer doesn’t give too much away, but it’s going to be great to see Gordon trying to adapt after so much has changed.

Hot Tub Time Machine – Red Band Trailer (NSFW)

This morning we’ve got a Red Band trailer for your viewing pleasure. That’s right, there may be violence, there may be nudity and there may even be the F-Bomb! I just know you’re all excited.

Hot Tub Time Machine is about four guys who get transported back to the 80s in a time machine disguised as a hot tub.

This movie looks fun, it has John Cusack in it, and I want to see it. That is all I need to say. The trailer should speak for itself.

A Brand New Trailer for Kick-Ass

If there’s one movie that I’m really looking forward to, more than any other this year, it’s Kick-Ass. I’ve not read the comics on which it’s based, and I’m pretty sure I’ll never get around to reading them before this comes out, but just from the buzz that this film is generating on the Interwebs, I’d say this is going to be a must see.

Check out the latest trailer below and let me know what you think. Is Kick-Ass going to be just another Mystery Men, or is it going to bring something new to the superhero genre?

The A-Team Trailer is Here

This weekend we’ve been given a trailer for the A-Team movie that’s due to be released 11th June this year (or 30th July if you’re in the UK).

For some time now I’ve been following the development of the A-Team movie with cautious optimism. I think the line up for the cast sounds great (with the exception of Rampage Jackson) and I’m pleased that they seem to be following the lead of the TV series, rather than trying to reinvent it.

Now we have a trailer and here’s what I think.

The Karate Kid (Remake) Trailer Now Online

It’s the week before Christmas and the news has all but dried up, but this morning we’ve got something interesting for you. The trailer for the 2010 remake of The Karate Kid starring Jackie Chan and Will Smith’s Son, Jaden Smith has arrived online.

I’m a child of the eighties and The Karate Kid was one of my favourite movies growing up, so I don’t think this is a movie that needs to be remade. Having said that, after watching this trailer, I think this could be a fun movie, but it’s going to be really hard to not try and compare it to the original.

Jackie Chan looks like he’ll make a good Mr Miyagi – although he’s known as Mr Han in this – and I like that they’ve kept the ‘wax-on, wax-off’ method of teaching Karate, but in the form of ‘coat-on, coat-off’. That made me chuckle to myself.

Check out the trailer after the jump and tell me what you think. Is this movie a bad idea, or do you think it could work?

Iron Man 2 Official Trailer Finally Here!

Well what can I say, other than the official trailer for Iron Man 2 is now here, and it looks absolutely fantastic.

The highlights for me are seeing Downey Jr being cockier than ever as Tony Stark and finally seeing Mickey Rourke’s Whiplash in action. To say I’m looking forward to this movie would be an understatement.

First Official Trailer for Ridley Scott’s Robin Hood

Universal Pictures have now released the first trailer for Ridley Scott’s Robin Hood, starring Russell Crowe, Cate Blanchett, Mark Strong, William Hurt, Kevin Durand, Alan Doyle, and Scott Grimes.

My first impressions are that it’s a bit mediocre. This may be because they’re only showing us the slow-mo action scenes with a hard rock soundtrack behind them. But it’s hard to distinguish this film from any other period action film. There’s nothing in this trailer that says this is a Robin Hood movie, other than the bow and arrow at the end.

Watch the trailer after the break and let me know what you think in the comments below.

The Sorcerer’s Apprentice Trailer has Magically Appeared

One of the big releases for Disney next year is The Sorcerer’s Apprentice. The live-action film that’s very loosely based on the famous scene in Fantasia where Mickey Mouse uses magic to animate a mop, but things then kind of get out of hand.

Produced by Jerry Bruckheimer and directed by Jon Turteltaub (National Treasure). Nicholas Cage plays the Sorcerer… Jay Baruchel is the Apprentice and Alfred Molina is the bad guy.

Apple released the trailer last night, and I’ve given it a couple of plays, but still can’t decide if I like it or not. Although it doesn’t give much away, my initial thoughts are the plot will be weak and the CG a bit overdone. But saying that I think it could be good fun, and it’s different enough to make me want to see it. What do you think?
