When a movie has had as many delays, re-shoots and firings as The Wolfman you’ve got to start questioning whether the final product will actually be any good. So the latest news that Universal have called in emergency editors Mark Goldblatt and Walter Murch to do further tinkering leaves me wondering whether we’ll end up with a complete mess in the end.

The Wolf Man is a lost cause. I’ve been saying it for over two years now and today’s news that emergency editors Mark Goldblatt and Walter Murch have been brought on board to fix the meandering mess of a movie is the final nail in the coffin for Universal’s tentpole.

I have to agree with them to some extent. If you mess around this much with a movie it can only spell trouble.

I was really looking forward to this after seeing the trailer, and I’ll still probably go and see it, but I’m keeping my pessimist hat firmly on my head for this one.
